Eagles Giants NFL What Are The Odds

  • The Philadelphia Eagles have opened as the +7.5-point spread favorites to beat the New York Giants in Saturday’s Divisional Round.
  • New York advanced by defeating the 3rd seeded Minnesota Vikings as +3 point spread underdogs.
  • This will mark the third meeting between the two teams this season, with the Eagles winning the first two showdowns between these two teams.

The Philadelphia Eagles make their playoff debut this weekend as 7.5-point spread favorites against the New York Giants.

The Eagles finished with the best record in the NFC and clinched home-field advantage throughout the NFC playoffs. Because of that, Philadelphia got the first-round bye. With the Giants beating the Minnesota Vikings in the Wild Card round, the stage is set for Saturday’s Divisional Round.

An Upset in the Twin Cities

The Giants entered the 2022 season with a 7.5-win total. New York finished the season with a 9-7-1 SU record and made it to the playoffs as the 7th seed in the NFC. That was supposed to be a big achievement already for a team whose roster lacked talent in key spots. However, the Giants were not satisfied with that as they defeated the 3rd-seeded Minnesota Vikings 31-24 to advance to the Divisional Round.

New York entered the Wild Card round as +140 Moneyline and +3 point spread betting underdogs to the Vikings. But QB Daniel Jones delivered another impressive performance, throwing for 301 yards with two touchdowns while leading the Giants in rushing yards. Jones finished with 379 combined yards to power the Giants to an early 17-7 lead which they would not relinquish.

Saquon Barkley rushed for two scores, including one which broke the tie midway through the fourth quarter Barkley had a total of 109 offensive yards with only 14 touches. New York converted 7 out of 13 third downs to win the game and pull off the upset. The Giants’ Super Bowl odds improved from +5000 before beating the Vikings to +3300 after the win. They opened at +6600 to win Super Bowl LVII.

Round 3

Saturday’s Divisional Round showdown will be Round 3 between the Eagles and Giants this season. The Eagles blew out the Giants 48-22 in their first meeting of the season last December 11 in New York. Philadelphia won again at home last January 8th but in a much closer game, 22-16. The Eagles have won 8 out of their last 10 head-to-head meetings against the Giants with New York’s last win coming last season, a 13-7 win on November 28, 2021.

Despite having tied the Kansas City Chiefs for the best record in the NFL at 14-3 SU during the regular season, the Eagles only have the 4th best odds to win Super Bowl LVII at +550 via online sportsbook BetOnline. The Chiefs are still the odds-on favorite to win it all at +325 odds while the red-hot San Francisco 49ers are next at +350 odds and the Buffalo Bills are third at +550 odds. Not surprisingly, the Giants have the longest current Super Bowl odds among the 8 remaining teams.

Philadelphia also only has the second-best odds to win the NFC at +160 odds despite being the top seed in the NFC playoffs. Sportsbooks currently have the 49ers as the NFC title favorites at +145 odds while the Giants are unsurprisingly at the bottom of the NFC Championship odds boards with +1400 odds.
