With original opponent Ignacio Bahamondes out of their July 30 bout due to visa issues, Jones will now take on L’udovit Klein in a short-notice bout at this Saturday’s UFC London event at the O2 Arena. And according to the best UFC betting sites, Jones is a sizable betting favorite to win that fight.

Mason Jones Claims First UFC Win

Jones claimed his first UFC win with a unanimous decision win over Uganda’s David Onama at UFC Vegas 41 last October 23, 2021. The win was his first in three UFC fights. Jones lost to Mike Davis in a Fight of the Night winner at UFC Fight Island 8 in his UFC debut. His second bout ended in a no-contest after an accidental eye poke rendered his opponent Alan Patrick unable to continue.
The 27-year-old from Blaenavon, Wales is a former Cage Warriors double champion, winning the promotion’s lightweight and welterweight titles right before joining the UFC in 2021. Overall, Jones has a record of 10-1 with one no-contest. Four of his wins have been by knockout and three by way of submission.
This marks the 7th time in Jones’ last eight bouts where he has opened as the betting favorite, with the only time he’s seen the plus money sign written next to his name was when he fought Davis in his Octagon debut. Jones’ opening odds against Klein is the second shortest in his last eight bouts, with only his -700 against Onama shorter.

Klein got back in the win column with a split decision win against Devonte Smith at UFC 272 last March 5th. That victory came after Klein lost back-to-back bouts against Michael Trizano and Nate Landwehr in his two assignments last year. Prior to that skid, he had won eight consecutive bouts, seven by stoppage.
The 27-year-old from Nove Zamsky, Slovakia worked as a bouncer at discos before transitioning to MMA. Klein began his career at PCF and the Hanuman Cup before an unbeaten five-bout run at Oktagon which earned him a spot in the UFC. Overall, Klein has a record of 18-4 with 8 knockouts and 8 submission victories.
Klein will be the betting underdog for only the second time in his last six bouts. The only other time during this period when he had the plus money sign written next to his name was when he opened at +125 against Shane Young. He closed as the -140 favorite in that bout and won via KO.
