Sean Brady Calls Out Belal Muhammad

Brady has been busy calling out Muhammad on social media since his last win. The 29-year-old has put together an undefeated 5-0 record inside the Octagon. In his most recent UFC assignment, Brady produced his biggest win to date, beating veteran Michael Chiesa via unanimous decision at UFC Vegas 43 last November 20, 2021.

The Philadelphia, Pennsylvania native is a former Cage Fury Fighting Championships welterweight champion who also fought for LFA and Shogun Fights. Brady joined the UFC in 2019 and is undefeated in five Octagon bouts. Overall, he owns a professional MMA record of 15-0 with three knockouts and four submission victories.

This will mark only the second time in six UFC bouts where Brady has opened with the plus money sign written next to his name. The only other time when Brady opened as the betting underdog was when he hit the betting boards at +120 odds against Ismail Naurdiev in February 2020. He closed at a price of +115 in that bout and beat Naurdiev via unanimous decision.

Belal Muhammad Decisions Vicente Luque in Rematch

Muhammad meanwhile exacted revenge against Vicente Luque who knocked him out in 2016. The 33-year-old from Chicago, Illinois decisioned Luque at the main event of UFC Vegas 51 last April 22, 2022. The win improved Muhammad’s unbeaten run to 8 fights, the third-longest streak in the division behind Kamaru Usman’s 15 and Leon Edwards’ 10.

The 5th ranked welterweight in the UFC is a former Titan FC welterweight champion. He also fought under Hoosier Fight Club and Bellator before heading to the UFC in 2016 with an unbeaten 9-0 record. Muhammad lost two out of his first three UFC assignments, including a first-round KO against Luque at UFC 205. Since then, he’s 11-1 with one no-contest in his last 13 bouts. Overall, Muhammad has a record of 21-3 with four knockouts and one submission victory.

Muhammad will be the betting favorite for the first time in his last three bouts. Previously, he defeated Stephen Thompson as the +180 bottom dog, then beat Luque at +170 odds. Muhammad has not been defeated as the betting favorite in the UFC. His losses to Alan Jouban, Luque, and Geoff Neal all came with the plus money sign written next to his name.
