Donald Cerrone has opened as the betting underdog in a short-notice fight against Jim Miller at UFC 276.
According to the top UFC betting sites, Cowboy is the slight +135 underdog against Miller who hit the opening odds boards at -155 odds:

Miller was scheduled to fight Bobby Green in the July 2 PPV event but Green withdrew from the fight for an undisclosed reason. Cerrone, who saw his scheduled bout with Joe Lauzon canceled for the second time, is back doing what he’s known for his whole career.

Cerrone has made a career out of taking short-notice bouts and saving UFC events. It’s just fitting that he will be doing the same thing in the second-to-the-last bout of his MMA career. Cowboy has previously mentioned that he will retire after his 50th UFC bout. He has already logged in 48 so that means he’ll fight one more time after this bout.
The 39-year-old Cerrone will be looking to snap the worst skid of his MMA career. Cowboy is winless in his last six bouts, with one no-contest. Four of his five losses during that stretch have been by stoppage, although four of his five total losses during that span came against former champions or interim champions in the UFC. Cerrone’s last win came way back in May 2019 when he defeated Al Iaquinta in the main event of UFC Fight Night 151. Cowboy is 36-16 with 10 knockouts and 17 submission wins.
From 2012 to 2016, Cerrone was the betting underdog in only three bouts. However, after he was the betting favorite during his 2017 bouts against Jorge Masvidal and Darren Till, Cowboy has seen the minus money sign written next to his name only once in 11 bouts. That was when he fought Morono at -182 odds that last time out. Cerrone lost that fight via first-round knockout.

The 38-year-old Miller holds the record for most bouts fought under the UFC banner with 39, ore one more than Cerrone. Miller is also tied with Cerrone and Andrei Arlovski for most UFC with 23 and is first overall with 14 finishes. His 37 bouts in the UFC’s lightweight division are also the most by any fighter as are his 21 wins in the 155-pound division. He heads to this bout with back-to-back wins, both via second-round knockout.
A former lightweight champion at Cage Fury Fighting Championship and Reality Fighting, Miller joined the UFC in 2008. He won 9 out of his first 10 UFC assignments, including seven in a row from July 2009 to March 19th. It has been up and down ever since and prior to his current two-fight winning run, Miller lost eight out of his last 12 bouts. Overall, Miller has a record of 34-16 with six knockouts and 18 submission wins.
The change in opponent has turned Miller from a +265 underdog against Green to a slight -155 betting favorite against Cerrone. Being the betting favorite is important to Miller since his last eight losses inside the UFC Octagon have come when he had the plus money sign written next to his name.
