Super Bowl 58 Ravens Jets Odds

  • Kansas City’s Super Bowl 58 odds remain at +600 after the conclusion of the first round.
  • New York’s odds skyrocketed in the aftermath of Aaron Rodgers’ trade. However, the Jets’ Super Bowl odds regressed Thursday night after their first round pick in the Draft.
  • Bettors respond kindly to Lamar Jackson’s new deal and the addition of dynamic wide receiver, Zay Flowers, to Baltimore with the No. 22 pick.

There were no changes at the top of the Super Bowl 58 odds following the first day of the 2023 NFL Draft, but other prominent contenders saw some significant movement following their first-round selections.

The Kansas Chiefs opted to address their defense by selecting Kansas State defensive end, Felix Anudike-Uzomah. While the selection didn’t move the needle for bettors, the Chiefs are still the team to beat according to Super Bowl 58 odds at BetOnline.

On February 13, 2023, a day after Super Bowl 57, the Chiefs had +600 odds to win Super Bowl 58. Two months later, with the opening round of the 2023 NFL Draft in the books, the Chiefs own the same odds.

That being said, there were some noteworthy shifts in the Super Bowl odds following Day 1 of the 2023 NFL Draft. Most notably, the New York Jets and the Baltimore Ravens saw their SB 58 odds move in opposite directions.

Ravens’ Move Up The Super Bowl 58 Oddsboards

While Lamar Jackson’s status with the Ravens was in flux, the team was mired in the middle of the pack with +2500 Super Bowl 58 odds.

Earlier this week, the Ravens saw their odds fall even more as they dropped to +2800 following news that things were tenuous between Jackson and the team. However, that all changed on Thursday, April 27, as Baltimore made some significant moves that greatly impacted their betting lines.

Before the 2023 NFL Draft had commenced, the Ravens and Jackson agreed to a massive $260 million dollar deal. Then, the team went into the draft and selected a brand new weapon for Jackson and the Baltimore offense.

The Ravens drafted Boston College wide receiver Zay Flowers with the 22nd overall selection on Thursday night. Flower’s arrival provides Jackson with an electric target that can turn a short catch into a big gainer and the speed to track down a deep ball.

At Boston College, Flowers finished his collegiate career with 3,056 receiving yards, 345 rushing yards, and a total of 31 touchdowns. Despite not playing in the most dynamic offense in college, Flowers still managed to take over games.

Drafting Flowers impressed bettors as money flowed in on Baltimore on Thursday night. The Ravens were held back by an inconsistent offense last season, but they should be in better shape now.

The betting public appears to believe that Flowers can provide an immediate impact alongside Odell Beckham Jr. Baltimore’s Super Bowl 58 odds shortened from +2800 to +1800 at BetOnline.

The Jets’ First Round Selection Did Not Impress SB Markets

The Jets saw a big leap in Super Bowl 58 odds after they traded for Aaron Rodgers and moved all the way into the sixth best odds to win the 2024 Super Bowl.

With Super Bowl odds of +1100, the Jets immediately became a contender upon the completion of the deal for Rodgers. The media storm over the trade resulted in the public rush to lock in their bets on the Jets to win Super Bowl 58.

However, reaching for Iowa State defensive end, Will McDonald, sent the Jets’ Super Bowl odds retreating. McDonald, the first Iowa State player selected in the first-round since 1973, is joining the Jets in New York.

McDonald was the defensive leader for a fairly stout Cyclones’ defense in 2022. He recorded 80 solo tackles, 40.5 tackles for a loss, and 34 sacks in his five-year career at Iowa State.

These are strong numbers, but McDonald was not expected to go off the board this early. Sometimes reaching for a player works out and sometimes it doesn’t. With that said, most Jets fans were anticipating the team drafting a receiver to give Rodgers more help.

The Jets no longer have the sixth best odds to win Super Bowl 58 at BetOnline. They slipped a spot and are now tied with the Dallas Cowboys at +1400 odds. This is a +300 change from when the trade happened between the Jets and Packers on Monday afternoon.

The Buffalo Bills remain the favorite in the AFC East with the odds of winning the division at +140. Trailing the Bills, the Jets are the second favorite to win the division with +220 odds.
