2023 Travelers Championship Odds and Picks

Travelers Championship Odds Picks PGA

Following a shocker at the U.S. Open, the PGA Tour has another big tournament on tap this weekend. We are at TPC River Highlands for the $20 million Travelers Championship.

If you did not like the U.S. Open at Los Angeles Country Club, then the Travelers Championship in Cromwell, Connecticut, should get your attention. There were many complaints about the layout and atmosphere at LACC.

Unfortunately, if you are looking for a tougher challenge, TPC River Highlands is not your course. There should be low scores throughout this star-studded field.

However, the par 70 course should have a much better atmosphere than the incredibly exclusive LACC. Most top golfers are not taking this week off despite just playing a major championship.

Let’s check out the latest 2023 Travelers Championship odds, courtesy of the best golf betting sites, and make our predictions as to who will win this PGA tournament.

How To Watch The Travelers Championship

The PGA Tour is back on CBS this week after NBC had the exclusive rights to the U.S. Open. If you want to watch the first two rounds, you will need access to the Golf Channel. The action will turn over to CBS for the third and fourth round on the weekend1.

Xander Schauffele+1200Viktor Hovland+2000

Tommy Fleetwood+3000Tony Finau+3000
Max Homa+3500Rickie Fowler+3500
Cameron Young+4000Hideki Matsuyama+4000

World No. 1 Scottie Scheffler is favored to win the 2023 Travelers Championship. He took a big run on the back 9 at Wyndham Clark, but Scheffler had to settle for 3rd at the U.S. Open.

Jon Rahm, who was one of the best golfers on Sunday, was too far behind to mount a comeback. Rahm has the second-best odds alongside Rory McIlroy to win the Travelers Championship.

McIlroy had his best effort of 2023 at the U.S. Open. However, it was Rickie Fowler who stole the show early on. Fowler and Xander Schauffele broke a U.S. Open record with a first-round 8-under 62.

Schauffele is the defending winner at TPC River Highlands. He is amongst the favorites with +1200 odds to win this Sunday in Connecticut. Fowler has +3500 odds to win the Travelers Championship.

Despite winning the U.S. Open, Clark is planning on playing this tournament. Currently, he has +4000 odds to win the event at TPC River Highlands.

Travelers Championship Betting Favorites

There is a sizable gap between Scheffler and the rest of the field on the Travelers Championship odds at online betting sites. Let’s take a look at the Top 3 favorites at TPC River Highlands and our Travelers Championship picks.

Scottie Scheffler (+650)

Scottie Scheffler is ranked No. 1 according to the Official World Golf Ranking2. Scheffler hasn’t won since The Players in March. However, he has been by far the most consistent golfer in the Travelers Championship field.

Scheffler is looking for his third win this season at the Travelers Championship. The 26-year-old captured the WM Phoenix Open on Super Bowl Weekend in Arizona. A month later, Scheffler won The Players Championship.

Since his latest win in March, Scheffler has finished in the Top 10 in seven of eight events, including the Top 5 in five straight outings. Scheffler has been close in his last five tournaments. He finished 3rd, 3rd, T3, T2, and T5 since May 143.

Scheffler leads the PGA Tour in several categories. He is first in SG: Total, SG: Off The Tee, SG: Approach to Green, and SG: Tee-to-Green4.

Last year, Scheffler finished T13 at the Travelers Championship. According to his Travelers Championship odds, he is expected to move up the leaderboard in 2023.

Jon Rahm (+1000)

If Jon Rahm can put all four rounds together, he can win the Travelers Championship. Rahm has been putting together excellent performances in certain rounds recently. However, not consistently from Thursday to Sunday.

Rahm shot 5-under for one of the best performances of the fourth round on Sunday at the US Open. He was able to move into T10. However, Rahm didn’t give himself enough of a chance after mediocre play on Saturday.

Nevertheless, the Spaniard is one of the most talented golfers in the Travelers Championship field. Rahm is ranked No. 2 in the world with 474 total points going into Thursday.

Oddsmakers are not counting Rahm out at TPC River Highlands. The 2022-23 season has been good to Rahm even though he hasn’t been in top form over the last month. He has won four tournaments, including the Masters in April at Augusta National5.

Rahm trails only Scheffler in SG: Total and is third in SG: Approach to Green. Additionally, the 28-year-old ranks third in SG: Tee-to-Green. Entering the Travelers Championship, Rahm leads the FedExCup standings with 3,117 points6.

Rory McIlroy (+1000)

Should McIlroy be part of your betting strategy at TPC River Highlands? McIlroy has been consistent recently, but not able to finish tournaments this season.

The Northern Ireland native finished 2nd with a -9 under behind Clark’s 10-under. McIlroy is still searching for his first major championship since 2014 at the PGA Championship.

He has one PGA Tour win this year at The CJ Cup in South Carolina. In 2021-22, McIlroy won The CJ Cup, Canadian Open, and TOUR Championship7.

Also, he won the FedExCup Championship for the third time in his career after a wild comeback last year. That said, McIlroy has been playing well since going T7 at the PGA Championship in May.

He has finished 2nd, T9, T7, and T7 in his last four events8. Expect McIlroy to strike again this season. However, is the Travelers Championship the place for him to do it?

McIlroy has the best driver on the PGA Tour. He leads in driving distance per drive at 327.5 yards and second off the tee in strokes gained. Additionally, McIlroy is fourth in SG: Total9.

Travelers Championship Best Value Bet: Matt Fitzpatrick (+3000)

Matt Fitzpatrick was unable to defend his U.S. Open title this past weekend. That said, Fitzpatrick had a decent weekend at the office to finish T17 at 1-under.

Fitzpatrick was one of the most vocal critics of LACC. He wasn’t the only one, but Fitzpatrick let everyone know about it, including the USGA. It did not stop him from hitting a hole-in-one, though.

The Englishman was not a fan of the atmosphere and the layout of LACC left a lot to be desired, according to Fitzpatrick10. The 28-year-old native of Sheffield should be thrilled to be on the east coast for the Travelers Championship.

He passed on the Travelers Championship after winning the U.S. Open last year. However, Fitzpatrick has to be considered with these odds to win the Travelers Championship at +3000.

Fitzpatrick picked up his only win this season at the RBC Heritage at Harbour Town Golf Links. He edged out Jordan Spieth in a playoff to win the largest prize out of the $20 million purse in April11.

The putter has been treating Fitzpatrick well this season. From inside 10 feet, Fitzpatrick has a 90.85% success rate for fourth on the PGA Tour. Overall, he is 19th in putting and 16th in SG: Total12.

+3000 odds at online casinos is a pretty good bargain on Fitzpatrick. You should consider having him on your Travelers Championship betting card at TPC River Highlands.

Travelers Championship Best Longshot Bet: Harris English (+6500)

Harris English had another performance to be happy about this past weekend. English collected a nice paycheck after finishing T8 at 4-under.

He was hanging around going into the final round. With a +2 on Sunday, English removed himself from the equation in crunch time.

In any event, it is the fourth Top 13 performance for Englis since May 7. In 24 events this season, he has finished in the Top 10 in seven tournaments13.

English is only two years removed from a win at TPC River Highlands. The native of Georgia defeated Kramer Hickok in a thrilling eight-hole playoff14.

His effort at the 2022 Travelers Championship was encouraging, too. While English did not defend his Travelers Championship title, 9-under for T19 was a fine showing.

English has generous odds to win the Travelers Championship at +6500. Consider heading to Bovada and adding English to your Travelers Championship picks.

2023 Travelers Championship Prediction

We have one more player to add to our Travelers Championship card. After McIlroy and Rahm, you can find Patrick Cantlay at Bovada on the Travelers Championship odds.

Cantlay is searching for his first win since the 2022 BMW Championship. In addition to his BMW Championship win, Cantlay won the Zurich Classic of New Orleans last year15.

Despite the drought, he has been in solid form this season. On April 16, Cantlay was in top form to finish 3rd at the RBC Heritage. He’s added two more top 10 finishes since that tournament. In the U.S. Open, he had a respectable showing for T1416.

The 11-year PGA pro may not have a win this season, but ranks up there with the top players in 2022-23. Cantlay is first in Total Driving, Going for the Green, and Scrambling from the Fringe. Moreover, Cantlay ranks second in SG: Off The Tee and fifth in SG: Total17.

Cantlay has been one of the most steady and consistent players at TPC River Highlands across the last four years. Since 2019 at the Travelers Championship, he’s finished T15, T11, T13, and T13.

Look for Cantlay to be in the hunt on the back 9 this Sunday. He is our top pick to win the Travelers Championship at +1200.
