2023 AEW Double or Nothing Odds, Predictions and Latest Rumors

AEW Double Or Nothing Predictions And Odds

On Sunday, May 28, All Elite Wrestling will be live from the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada, for their Double or Nothing PPV. This will be the fifth edition of the Double or Nothing franchise and it’s stacked with the company’s biggest stars.

Currently, all major world titles will be on the line except for the Trios belts. However, there’s a chance those world titles could be added to the PPV this week.

Pro wrestling betting sites have released odds for most of the announced card. Let’s take a look at the latest AEW odds, courtesy of BetUS, and make our Double or Nothing predictions.

Caution, the odds are fluctuating at BetUS and intermittently available. Keep an eye out later this week for updated odds heading into the PPV weekend.

2023 AEW Double or Nothing Card

The following matches have been confirmed as of this publication:

Six-Man Tag Match

  • The Hardys & Isiah Kassidy (NA)
  • Ethan Page & The Gunns (NA)

The stipulation for this match is that if The Hardys and Isiah Kassidy win, then they will have control over Ethan Page’s contract. It’s a reversal of fortune for Page who, along with The Firm, had control over Matt Hardy and Kassidy’s contracts for most of 2023.

With the recent return of Jeff Hardy, there’s no doubt that Team Hardy will get the victory. Plus, it’s more entertaining to see Page as a stooge for the Hardys than any other outcome of this contest.

The Bet
The Hardys & Isiah Kassidy

Unsanctioned Match

  • Chris Jericho (NA)
  • Adam Cole (NA)

The bitter feud between Chris Jericho and Adam Cole comes to a head, and hopefully a conclusion, at Double or Nothing. Last week on Dynamite, Cole helped his friend Roderick Strong defeat Jericho, which took some of the steam out of this feud.

Ultimately, this storyline didn’t have the energy that it does on paper. It fell flat mostly because nobody believed that Cole would lose the feud. So, unless we see some kind of outside interference, this match will end with Cole victorious.

The Bet
Adam Cole

AEW International Championship Blackjack Battle Royale

  • Orange Cassidy (NA)
  • Any Other Competitor (NA)

There are rumors circulating that AEW has big plans for Orange Cassidy moving forward. This isn’t a surprise considering how popular he is with the fans. And, let’s all agree, Orange Cassidy has one of the best ring songs in the business.

With that said, this match is a perfect opportunity for AEW to remove the belt from Cassidy without having him lose any momentum. He’s facing 20 other competitors and the odds are clearly stacked against him. It would be silly to have Cassidy win this match, only to lose the belt in a mid-card feud.

Instead, have OC lose this match after a valiant effort. Give another star the rub this title may bring. I would love to see Miro win the battle royale and take the title to the new Collision show, if AEW goes with the roster split. Either way, this bout could be a nice way to set up another wrestler with a deserved push.

The Bet
Any Other Competitor

TBS Championship Match

  • (c)Jade Cargill (-375)
  • Taya Valkyrie (+235)

Are we going to see Jade Cargill suffer the first loss of her pro career? I doubt it. As talented as Taya Valkyrie is, putting her over Cargill at the PPV doesn’t really boost the women’s roster. In other words, it does nothing for the company.

Cargill’s first loss would have to come against a popular star that the fans would get behind. Valkyrie is not that star. Someone like the former Sasha Banks would be a great option for this.

As for this matchup, expect a physical encounter that sees Cargill pull out the win with a little help from her associates.

The Bet
Jade Cargill

AEW Women’s World Championship Match

  • (c)Jamie Hayter (-400)
  • Toni Storm (+250)

The women’s roster has been buoyed by the feud between The Outcast and Jamie Hayter along with sidekick Britt Baker. On one side, you have three former WWE stars in The Outcast (Storm, Saraya, Ruby Soho). On the other side, you have two home-grown stars in Baker and Hayter.

If I were booking this match, I would have Storm get the victory with help from her Outcast teammates. Having Hayter and Baker chase after The Outcast is more entertaining than the other way around. Plus, Hayter’s title reign has fizzled out. She’s over as a star, but her time with the belt should come to an end.

The Bet
Toni Storm

TNT Championship Ladder Match

  • (c)Wardlow (-280)
  • Christian Cage (+185)

Christian Cage has done an admirable job with making fans care about this match. If Cage wasn’t such a fantastic heel, nobody would invest the emotions into this matchup because we all know that Wardlow would win. But with Cage, his dastardly deeds could pull off the shocking upset.

Along with Luchasaurus, you can’t count out Cage despite what some sports betting sites have the odds listed at. Cage is as high as +500 at these sites.

With that said, I do expect Wardlow to pick up the victory. It would be foolish for AEW to have him lose the belt so soon. They’ve already done that with Wardlow and it damaged his ascension up the proverbial ladder. Pulling that creative stunt again would seriously backfire.

The wild card in this match is Arn Anderson. AEW paired him with Wardlow to help get the big man back on track. I see Double A getting involved in this ladder match, nullifying some of Cage’s antics, and helping his pupil pick up the victory.

The Bet
Wardlow

AEW World Tag Team Championship Match

  • (c)FTR (-850)
  • Jay Lethal and Jeff Jarrett (+450)

Mark Briscoe is the special guest referee for this match and he’s already played a part in the build-up to this weekend’s tag team title bout. In fact, AEW has done a solid job at making fans speculate as to whether or not Briscoe could cost FTR the titles.

With that in mind, I go back to the logic we discussed in the Wardlow match above. AEW has already had some creative misfires with how they’ve booked FTR over the last year. It would be a colossal mistake to have them lose the titles to Jay Lethal and Jeff Jarrett.

FTR is one of the best tag teams in the world. More importantly, the AEW fans are fully invested in this team. Lethal and Jarrett are solid heels, but they have no business beating FTR for the belts.

If anything, we’ll see another FTR vs Young Bucks feud for these belts later this year. Although the odds offer no value, betting on FTR makes the most sense financially and creatively.

The Bet
FTR

Anarchy in the Arena

  • The Elite (NA)
  • The Blackpool Combat Club (NA)

Other than the world title storyline with the Four Pillars, this feud between The Elite and The Blackpool Combat Club (BCC) is the most entertaining angle that AEW has going for them. So, I see no reason for it to end at the PPV.

Many sportsbooks have The Elite favored to win this match, but I think it would be a mistake for AEW to go this direction. Yes, Adam Page has returned to the promotion and re-joined his former Elite stablemates.

But Don Callis is still a wild card for this matchup and I believe he will play a part in helping the Blackpool Combat Club win. Could he be the next William Regal for the BCC?

Callis already turned on Kenny Omega after an intense steel cage match against Jon Moxley of the BCC. There’s more meat to the bone of Callis’ betrayal and I see AEW getting a lot more mileage out of that.

What better way to keep Don Callis in the spotlight than to have him help the BCC win at Double or Nothing?

The Elite can get their revenge at following shows and events, but a win by the BCC keeps their spot at the top of the card, keeps this feud going, and keeps the Callis betrayal storyline going as well.

The Bet
The Blackpool Combat Club

AEW World Championship Four-Pillars Match

  • (c)MJF (-4000)
  • Darby Allin (+500)
  • Sammy Guevara (+600)
  • Jungle Boy (+800)

It shouldn’t be a surprise that MJF is the largest betting favorite for the entire card. Sportsbooks, along with fans and pundits, all believe that the champion will retain his title by hook or by crook. Furthermore, none of the other competitors are realistic world champions at this point.

If we saw a four-way match between MJF and wrestlers like CM Punk, then there would be more of a chance for MJF to lose the title. But, when facing the other young stars of the company, MJF is still head and shoulders above them.

I have enjoyed the build-up to this match as AEW has done a good job getting fans to invest in this storyline. Furthermore, MJF has continued to get fans to root for anyone to beat him. Unfortunately, that’s not going to happen this weekend.

Instead, MJF will continue as the promotion’s top champion. In fact, I don’t see any reason to take the belt off of him before 2024. And, I would only take the belt off of him if the negotiations for a new contract stall or appear to be unsuccessful.

Until that point, AEW needs to continue pushing MJF as their champ and putting him in feuds that are creatively entertaining and athletically competitive.

The other thing I’m interested in seeing for this world title match, is the crazy spots that Darby Allin and Sammy Guevara are going to perform on the biggest stage. Get your popcorn ready because this match will have AEW fans screaming even if we all know that MJF will win.
