Will Aaron Rodgers Finally Part Ways With Packers After This Season?

Aaron Rodgers Is This Goodbye

Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers won his second straight NFL MVP last season and the third of his career. The MVP total surpasses the only Super Bowl championship that he won as the Packers QB.

And oh, by the way … Rodgers had his first MVP in 2011 when he led the Pack to that world championship.

Rodgers has had a solid season as he has completed 64.9 percent of his passes while recording 23 touchdowns against 10 picks, which sit currently third in his career. Four more interceptions and he will break his own record where he threw 13 picks in 2008.

Many NFL betting sites have begun to speculate whether or not Rodgers will stick with the Pack following the 2022-23 season.

Let’s huddle up, take a look at these Aaron Rodgers betting odds courtesy of BetOnline, and predict whether or not the future HOF quarterback will play elsewhere next year.

Aaron Rodgers Prop Bets

Currently, BetOnline offers two different Aaron Rodgers prop bets:

Will Rodgers Be With Packers Next Season?

Yes
-250
No
+170

Before we address this prop bet, let’s off-tackle dive into the second Rodgers wager that lists a handful of teams that could be potential landing spots for #12.

If Traded, Where Will Rodgers End Up?

TeamOdds
Colts+350
Commanders+400
Lions+500
Jets+550
Saints+550
Panthers+650
Bucs+1000
Giants+1200
Falcons+1600

The Indianapolis Colts (+350) have had one of the strangest seasons in the history of the NFL and have the best Aaron Rodgers odds for next season. Owner Jim Irsay fired head coach Frank Reich, who had proven he was solidly in a position to be a head coach. He hired Jeff Saturday to finish the season, who was a Colts mainstay at center, but walked straight off the set at ESPN to take the position.

Reich had benched Matt Ryan who came over after 14 seasons in Atlanta as he had the Falcons in position to win the Super Bowl over the Patriots in 2017 when Tom Brady led New England from a 28-3 deficit to win 34-28 in overtime.

As you look at the Colts, they are 31st in the NFL in Giveaway-Takeaway at (-12) with 27 giveaways which includes 14 interceptions with 13 lost fumble.

The key would be allowing Rodgers to be part of an offense that has a first class ground attack with the injured Johnathan Taylor, who is seemingly out for the rest of the season with a high-ankle sprain.

Commanding Respect in Washington

Carson Wentz and Taylor Heinicke have divided the quarterback chores for Coach Ron Rivera. Both quarterbacks are around a 62 percent completion rate, but neither can be regarded as a leader who consistently can lead Washington (+400) forward, through this season and beyond.

Heinicke has passed for 248.2 yards while Wentz is only good for 211.6 yards in the six games he has appeared in and the Commanders are 21st in pass offense in the NFL.

Washington’s rushing attack with Brian Robinson, Jr., and Antonio Gibson gives the Commanders a terrific one-two punch that averages 126.9 yards, fourth in the NFL.
Washington is another area where Rodgers can operate in a normal quarterback mode with Terry McLaurin (68-1,015-3) and Curtis Samuel (57-600-3) at wide receivers with Antonio Gibson coming out of the backfield in mastering 44 catches for 332 yards and two receiving TDs.

Clearly, Washington joins Indianapolis as the top two teams with the best Aaron Rodgers odds.

Lions, Jets are Solid Candidates for Rodgers

Detroit (+500) has won six of its last seven games which have thrust the Lions into NFC wild-card competition as quarterback Jared Goff has thrown 23 touchdown passes and only seven interceptions in completing 64.9 percent of his passes.

For Detroit, Goff has solidified himself of late as the Lions’ QB. In fact, Rodgers over Goff could be a reach because of Goff’s age, 28, and the ability he has shown this season as he only has one interception in the Lions’ last eight games while tossing 12 touchdown passes.

As Rodgers is 39 years old, would Detroit trading Goff, who certainly won’t be standing on the sidelines as he has orchestrated such a solid 2022?

The Jets and Saints both have been posted at (+550) to acquire Rodgers, as the Jets seem like they are at a crossroads with Mike White pushing out Zach Wilson. White has had a ribs injury and Wilson started in last week’s loss to the Lions and he also gets the call tonight against the Jacksonville Jaguars.

Statistically, it is no contest between White and Wilson as White has appeared in three games and for 317.3 yards while completing 62 percent of his passes. Meanwhile, Wilson has never settled in as the signal caller for the New York Jets as he has just 199.5 yards passing and completed only 54.9 percent of his attempts.

Saints and Panthers Stare at opportunities with Rodgers

The NFC South was one of the toughest divisions in the NFL just two years ago, but with injuries and losses of players, it feels like everyone has fallen immeasurably.

The New Orleans Saints (+550) and Carolina Panthers (+650) lead the Tampa Bay (+1000) and Atlanta (+1200) as four of the next five teams with astute odds to sign Rodgers are the NFC South competitors.

The Saints look like a strong favorite to land Rodgers as they had to bench Jameis Winston once again in place of Andy Dalton.

Andy Dalton?

Yep, the former Cincinnati Bengal has completed 66.8 percent of his passes with 17 touchdowns and four interceptions.

Dalton doesn’t pull out wins though which was the case in Cincinnati when the Bengals surrounded him with solid players and he had a winning team.

Atlanta finally gave up on Matt Ryan, who was jettisoned to the Colts. The Falcons find 315 yards per game (28th/NFL) which pushes as the passing game picks up only 150.9 yards through the air (31st/NFL).

Marcus Mariota has been problematic with just 15 touchdown passes and nine interceptions. There are no superstars at wide receiver here which has caused more problems as former USC star Drake London leads with 54 receptions in 92 targets. He has picked up a team-high 603 yards.

The Aaron Rodgers odds would probably decline on the Falcons based on the lack of high-level players at skill positions. Who has the more talented receivers and running backs, Atlanta or Green Bay?

Buccaneers in the Mix with Panthers, Giants

In the NFC South, Tampa Bay is at 6-8 while the Falcons, Panthers, and Saints are all tied at 5-9.

It seems that Tom Brady’s retirement will happen as soon as the season is over.

Brady has carried a torch for Tampa Bay (+1000) as he has completed 66.1 percent of his passes as he is finishing his third season in The Bay. He has 103 touchdown passes against 31 interceptions.

The interceptions are up but that is understandable as the Bucs rushing attack has been stymied for the most part which has had Brady in must pass situations as Tampa Bay has averaged only 3.9 yards per carry since Brady arrived.

With Brady retiring, would the Bucs go with another quarterback with age notoriety as in Rodgers? This worked immeasurably well since Brady bought a Super Bowl championship to town.

However, Tampa Bay had a solid roster until this season where injuries in the offensive line and at running back have been a major issue.

Inside the NFC South:
Carolina should be a player for Rodgers as the Panthers sent away Baker Mayfield after trading for him when Sam D’Arnold was injured.

D’Arnold and PJ Walker look like the future for the Panthers, so Rodgers may not fit into this rebuild where Ole Miss rookie Matt Corral was injured as he suffered a Lisfranc Injury in preseason action.

Meanwhile, the New York Giants’ Daniel Jones (+1200) will be up for grabs, but it feels like he will stay in New York which will cancel any destination questions for Rodgers.

As coach Brian Dabol has resurrected the Giants into a contender in his first season, he seems to be team oriented as he has completed 66 percent of his passes with 12 touchdowns and only four interceptions.

While the passing game hasn’t been a weapon in connecting for 179 passing yards per game (28th/NFL), New York has plugged in a solid running attack behind D’Onta Foreman as the Giants tally 146.2 yards rushing per game (6th/NFL).

As the Giants are 8-5-1 which was spurred by last week’s win over the Commanders, they could be looking at their first playoff opportunity since 2016.

Rodgers’ Movement Seems to Be a Reality

I think it’s a foregone conclusion that an Aaron Rodgers trade is eminent and he still start and lead a different team next season. He continually seems to be frustrated and upset with Green Bay and the young and talented new players on the team.

NFL Bets:
Aaron Rodgers departs Green Bay

I will take Rodgers’ moving out of Green Bay (+170) as he lands in Washington (+400). Not only will he provide the best quarterback that the franchise has seen since Joe Theismann, but he would instantly make the Commanders one of the best teams in the NFC.

NFL Bets:
Aaron Rodgers lands in Washington
