2023 PFL Challenger Series Week 5 Predictions

Here’s a breakdown of our confidence rating as we review the fighter’s odds and compare them with their performances, strengths and weaknesses.

Katherine Corogenes +295 vs Kaytlin Neil -360

Neil went 1-1 on TUF season 30, followed by an Invicta FC win. She had a rocky start to her career, but has only lost 1 pro fight since 2018. Corogenes struggled with 6-0 striker Dakota Ditcheva, but her submission game destroyed the local competition in East Asia.

Neil is a step above anyone Corogenes has ever defeated, but the holes in Neil’s grappling and the 3x payout force our hand. We’re betting the underdog via submission win.

The Bet
Katherine Corogenes

Sandra Lavado +295 vs Shanna Young -360

Young is fresh out of the UFC following a loss to Miranda Maverick last November. She also lost to Egger and Chiasson going 1-3 for the promotion.

Young is hoping for a comeback against the Peruvian Zombie, who lost at DWCS but has a submission and decision fighting game that’s been consistent against low level fighters.

Young should take the win; Lavado has lost repeatedly to tough competition in the past and we think Young is going to dominate the undeveloped women’s flyweight.

The Bet
Shanna Young

Desiree Yanez -181 vs Maira Mazar +156

ONE Championship fighter Mazar has knockout power on a small frame, but will fight anyone. Her biggest wins are against Flore Hani (4-2) and Arielle Souza (6-4). Yanez is 6-4, with a 1-3 record in her most recent bouts for Bellator and Peak Fighting.

Marzar could get the upset, considering Yanez has failed time and again to improve her submission defense. Bet lightly on the PFL Challenger Series Week 5 Odds for Mazar and expect a submission win.

The Bet
Maira Mazar

Helen Peralta -425 vs Lisa Mauldin +320

Peralta is vicious, but her record reflects multiple career losses to fighters she should have beaten. At 4-3, Peralta is the toughest fighter Mauldin has ever faced. She’s from the submission fighting school Oyama, and her style reflects that.

Peralta has never been submitted and we expect her to land some massive strikes early on as the decorated BKFC fighter will dive into the pocket with anyone. This fight is Peralta’s to lose and we don’t see that happening.

The 2023 PFL Challenger Series Week 5 Odds accurately reflect Peralta’s performances and we could see a parlay alongside Joe Solecki -600 at UFC this weekend.

The Bet
Helen Peralta

PFL Challenger Series Week 5: Multiple Future PFL Flyweights

Currently there is no PFL Flyweight division, but these women are the perfect examples of why you should add one. We’re going to see some firefights on Friday. This is a great card for fans of the sport as well as bettors building a predictable ticket.
