The PGA Tour turns to Torrey Pines for the Farmers Insurance Open in San Diego. This is the fourth event of 2023 on the PGA Tour. We have the latest Farmers Insurance Open odds from Bovada and betting pick for this weekend at the historic Torrey Pines.
Unfortunately for the field, they will have to deal with a red-hot Jon Rahm. After winning The American Express at the PGA WEST, Rahm is back for more at Torrey Pines. Rahm is hotter than fish grease going into San Diego.
The Farmers Insurance Open comes with an $8,700,000 purse this weekend. It is the second-biggest event so far in 2023. The Sentry Tournament of Champions on Maui with a $15,000,000 purse is the latest tournament that has been played thus far this season.

Torrey Pines is one of the most recognizable golf courses in the United States. Tiger Woods is responsible for making Torrey Pines a memorable golf course for fans. He has dominated this course in the past, but is only looking at playing a handful of events in 2023.
There are some notable players in the Farmers Insurance Open field this year. None bigger than Rahm. Some of the other bigger names include Justin Thomas, Collin Morikawa, and Xander Schauffele.
Are you going to ride the red-hot Rahm at Torrey Pines in the Farmers Insurance Open? You are going to have to pay a premium to buy a Rahm ticket to win on Saturday. As hot as the Spaniard is right now, the oddsmakers are not going to allow bettors to get a good price on him.
Let’s take a quick look at the best Farmers Insurance Open odds. It does not take an expert to guess who the favorite is on the board for this tournament.

There is no question whom the field has to beat at Torrey Pines this weekend. Rahm disappointed last season, but is off to a torrid pace this season. He was not terrible by any means last year.
However, Rahm was the favorite in most tournaments I handicapped and he faded late in tournaments. That has not been the case this season. Rahm is playing well and finishing in the final round.
Two wins in back-to-back starts to open 2023. 🔥

— Golf Channel (@GolfChannel) January 23, 2023
He has won back-to-back tournaments going into San Deigo. The Sentry Tournament of Champions was a winning event for Rahm, too. Rahm has won four of the previous six tournaments that he has entered.
In those six events, Rahm finished 1st, 1st, T8, 1st, T4, 1st. There is not another golfer in the world as on fire as Rahm right now. He is the clear favorite at +450 to win the Farmers Insurance Open.
The closest golfer to Rahm on the Farmers Insurance Open odds board is Xander Schauffele. He is not in the same ballpark, with Schauffele well behind at +1100. Tony Finau is the third favorite to win at +1200.

Of the active field in the Farmers Insurance Open this year, Jason Day has had the most success with two wins. He most recently won the Farmers Insurance Open in 2018. Day is +2200 to win the Farmers Insurance this year.
The 2022 Farmers Insurance Open winner was Luke List. List returns to San Diego looking for another Farmers Insurance Open title. However, the oddsmakers do not have much confidence in him at +8000.
List won a playoff over Will Zalatoris, who is looking for his second career PGA Tour win. Rahm won in 2017 and was the runner-up in 2020. It is hard to envision Rahm not being involved on the back 9 on Saturday.

2023 Farmers Insurance Open Weather Forecast
The Farmers Insurance Open is in San Diego, so weather usually is not a concern. That is going to be the case this weekend. It might be a bit chilly on Saturday, but it’s a good weekend for golf.
Temperatures are in the 60s from Thursday through Saturday. A high of 58 degrees is forecasted for the final round on Saturday. The wind might be an issue on Thursday, otherwise, it should be calm for the rest of the tournament.
The wind is expected to reach around 15 mph at around 2:00 p.m. on Thursday afternoon. As far as the weather goes, there is nothing else to note for this weekend at Torrey Pines. There are going to be clear skies and some big scores.
Farmers Insurance Open Predictions
You can take the easy route and select Rahm to win the Farmers Insurance Open. How can anyone argue with this selection? He is on fire and making the game of golf look like child’s play.
This is the Rahm that everyone expected to see last year. It is a very long season, and we are not even out of January, but this is the best possible start for him.
When we are in the thick of the season — with the likes of Rory McIlroy playing regularly — we will know a lot more about Rahm. The only negative with Rahm is that he could be peaking too early.
As far as this tournament is concerned, there is not much value on Rahm at +450. While Rahm is hot, you are not going to get the biggest return at this price. Let’s look for a better bargain on the Farmer Insurance Open odds board.
Si Woo Kim (+3300)
Si Woo Kim delivered a standout performance two weeks ago at the Sony Open. He was the best golfer in Hawaii at Waialae Country Club. Kim finished a stroke ahead of Hayden Buckley for the win at -18.
It was a beautiful final day for Kim, as he shot a -6 in Round 4. Buckley managed just a -2, which ultimately ended up being the difference on Ohau. Kim did not take the week off after winning in Hawaii.

He entered The American Express and had a fairly decent showing. Kim came well short of Rahm, but had a respectable showing. He shot -19 under par for his second consecutive quality performance.
Kim should be involved in a wide-open tournament in San Diego this weekend. The conditions should be perfect for a crazy scramble on Saturday. The 27-year-old Korean is expected to be close.
Max Homa (+2000)
The 16th-ranked player in the world returns after passing on the Sony Open and The American Express. The last time we saw Max Homa, he was in strong form at the Sentry Tournament of Champions.
He was unable to get the win, but Homa was able to turn that effort into a nice payday in the $15,000,000 event. Homa finished T3 behind Collin Morikawa and Rahm. Morikawa was in control of that event for three days and choked in the final round.
Yesterday, the United States secured its 9th straight Presidents Cup victory. A couple reasons why:
Jordan Spieth became the first U.S. player since Jim Furyk in 2011 to go 5-0-0.
Max Homa became the first Presidents Cup rookie since Stewart Cink in 2000 to go 4-0-0. pic.twitter.com/4rtBk2iqgR
— ESPN Stats & Info (@ESPNStatsInfo) September 26, 2022
Rahm has been clutch down the stretch this season. What about Homa? We do not have much to go on for Homa, but everything was in good order for him at the Sentry Tournament of Champions.
He shot a -23 through four rounds in a strong effort at Kapalua. The 23-year-old won just four tournaments earlier at the Fortinet Championship. Homa was just coming off a solid outing in the Tour Championship in 3rd.
There is reason to like Homa at this price. Anything under +2000 requires reconsidering, but this is great value for Homa.
Xander Schauffele (+1100)
Xander Schauffele is home this weekend for the Farmers Insurance Open. The native of San Diego is looking to build on the momentum from last week. He finished T3 after completing an albatross in The American Express.
It was the second straight tournament that Schauffele completed where he finished in the top-5. He withdrew from the Sentry Tournament of Champions after finishing 4th at the Hero World Challenge.

— PGA TOUR (@PGATOUR) January 22, 2023
Going back to the BMW Championship in August, Schauffele has finished in the top-5 in four out of five tournaments. He’s been in the top-10 in five straight outings.
If you want the next best form on the PGA Tour right now, it has to be Schauffele after Rahm. Schauffele and Rahm getting into a duel on the final day of this event would be a treat for golf fans.
Schauffele has tasted some success at Torrey Pines in the past. He was a runner-up to finish T2 behind Patrick Reed in 2021. Back in 2023, Schauffele is a serious contender to get it done this time.
The Farmers Insurance Open betting odds have Schauffele as the second favorite. He is still getting good odds here. At better than +1000 odds, he is still well worth considering for a pick to win the Farmers Insurance Open.
