2023 Academy Awards Best Actor Odds

The 95th Academy Awards Best Actor odds suggest that we have a two-man race between Brendan Fraser and Austin Butler. This is consistent with what we have seen in previous awards shows this year.

Fraser and Butler have battled it out for the Best Actor award at several ceremonies leading up to the Academy Awards. Butler won the Golden Globe for Best Actor in a Motion Picture/Drama in January³. He followed that up a month later, at the BAFTA Awards in London, with a win over Colin Farrell and Fraser⁴.

Butler’s performance as Elvis Presley in the film has been widely regarded as one of the best in Hollywood over the last year. Fraser has been recognized for his outstanding work in The Whale, as well.

The star of the Mummy franchise won the SAG Award for Best Actor a few weeks ago⁵. He also captured a Critic Choice Award for his performance as the depressed, Charlie, in The Whale⁶.

Butler does not look like Elvis Presley. In fact, there are other actors that would have looked closer to him, but would they have owned this performance like Butler? Probably not.

He brought Elvis to life in a way that will be hard to duplicate in the future. Harry Styles auditioned to play the role, and fortunately, they got it right by casting Butler⁷.

Fraser’s powerful performance in The Whale is hard to ignore, though. Fraser plays Charlie, a depressed individual that allows his weight and health to unravel.

After isolating himself from the world and his family, Charlie hopes to renew a relationship with his daughter. The emotional effort has been a comeback story of sorts for Fraser.

Expect everything to come full circle for Fraser at the 95th Academy Awards. The SAG Awards are regarded as the best predictor for the Oscars.

After winning a SAG for The Whale, Fraser collects another huge award on Sunday night.

2023 Academy Awards Best Actress Odds

The 95th Academy Awards Best Actress odds are like the men. We have a race between two women on the Academy Awards odds boards at Bovada.

Michelle Yeoh and Cate Blanchett will once again battle for an award as they have done the last few months. Everything Everywhere All at Once has been well-represented during awards season and they are looking to sweep at the Academy Awards.

While a sweep might be difficult, they are going to do incredibly well. Yeoh’s leading role in Everything Everywhere All at Once has already been recognized numerous times.

Yeoh won the Golden Globe for Best Actress in a musical or comedy two months back⁸. She returned at the SAG Awards to win⁹, and then did it again with a win for Best Actress at the Independent Spirit Awards¹⁰.

Blanchett’s role as Lydia Tar in TAR has not gone unnoticed, though. She won the BAFTA for leading actress in London¹¹. Can Blanchett pull off a small upset over Yeoh?

Blanchett was terrific in her portrayal of an egotistical, self-centered, and narcissistic orchestra conductor in TAR. In a film that is entirely based on Tar’s personality, Blanchett makes it work.

If Tar’s character is not cast properly, we are not talking about this movie. Blanchett is the driving force of TAR. Everyone can agree that the film does not get this recognition without Blanchett.

Yeoh’s character, Evelyn Quan Wang, goes on a wild adventure through an infinite multiverse to save the world. Yeoh is not the only standout performer in the film, but she is excellent in the leading role.

What happened at the SAG Awards is the best indicator as to what will happen here. Look for Yeoh to add an Oscar to her long list of awards over the past few months.

2023 Academy Awards Best Supporting Actor Odds

The biggest lock of the Academy Awards odds must be Ke Huy Quan for Best Supporting Actor.

Barring some unforeseeable upset, Quan is in a league of his own in this category. There is faint hope for Barry Keoghan, who unexpectedly stole the show in The Banshees of Inisherin.

The Irish actor is up against a juggernaut in this category. Quan has been cleaning up for his role as Waymond Wang during awards season. His two biggest scores include a Golden Globe¹² and SAG Award.

Quan became the first Asian male actor to win a SAG Award since the first event in 1994¹³. The next most likely step is an Oscar for Quan.

Quan and Yeoh worked well together as husband and wife in Everything Everywhere All at Once. The chemistry between the two award-winning stars was undeniable.

We hope to see these two working together again soon. For now, Quan and Yeoh can celebrate winning Oscars together on Sunday night.

Despite there being no betting value on Quan’s Oscars odds at -4000, he is the only logical pick to win the Best Supporting Actor Oscar.

2023 Academy Awards Best Supporting Actress Odds

There are two actresses from Everything Everywhere All at Once nominated to win the Oscar for Best Supporting Actress.

Jamie Lee Curtis and Stephanie Hsu are both listed on the Academy Awards odds, with Curtis the favorite to win.

The race is so close in this category that every actress has Oscars odds of plus money to win. Kerry Condon should not be overlooked, either.

Curtis and Bassett were both nominated for outstanding supporting actress at the SAG Awards. In a stunning upset, Curtis edged out the favored Bassett¹⁴.

Bassett won a Golden Globe¹⁵ and Critics Choice Award¹⁶ for her role as Ramonda. She can easily win her third award for Black Panther: Wakanda Forever at the Academy Awards.

Curtis, the star of the Halloween series, is nominated for an Oscar for the first time in her decades-long career. Will she also win her first Oscar at the 95th Academy Awards?

The odds did not have her winning a SAG Award. Following the win, her odds to win the Oscar for Best Supporting Actress catapulted to the top.

While everyone focuses on the race between Curtis and Bassett, there is a dark horse lurking in this category. If we are talking about who is most deserving of their performance, it must be Condon.

The 40-year-old Irish actress won a BAFTA for supporting actress this past February¹⁷. Her performance as Siobhan, the sister of Farrell’s character, Padraic, is the best in The Banshees of Inisherin.

Condon’s Academy Award betting odds suggest that she has better than a puncher’s chance to win here. We are going to take a shot on Condon to win at this price as she pulls off the mild upset over Curtis and Bassett.

2023 Academy Awards Best Director Odds

The 95th Academy Awards odds for the Best Director features an impressive list of film directors. According to the Oscars betting odds, there is only one that has a realistic chance of winning, though.

Okay, two, because Everything Everywhere All at Once is a team between Daniel Kwan and Daniel Scheinert. The Daniels have been no strangers to winning awards for their effort on this film.

Kwan and Scheinert are coming off two wins at the Directors Guild Awards and Independent Spirit Awards. After snatching up a DGA last month¹⁸, the Daniels won an Independent Spirit Award for Best Director more recently¹⁹.

There is a threat from Steven Spielberg to upset the Daniels. Spielberg did an Oscar-worthy job with The Fabelmans. It is one of the most underappreciated films that has received nominations at the 95th Academy Awards.

At +2200, Martin McDonagh and Todd Field are well behind the favorite. These Oscars odds are a little high. Neither director is getting much respect from oddsmakers, but might have a better chance to win than +2200.

Kwan and Scheinert put a lot of work into Everything Everywhere All at Once. There is so much going on in this film at the same time. It most certainly was not a linear process to put the final product in place.

The staggering number of nominations that this film has received during Awards season reflects what Kwan and Scheinert were able to accomplish. Look for the betting favorite to easily win the Oscar for the Best Director category.

The 95th Academy Awards Best Picture odds feature ten nominations. There are several quality films on the Best Picture nominations list, but only one can win.

The Best Picture category is regarded as the top award at the Academy Awards. According to the oddsmakers at Bovada, and public consensus, Everything Everywhere All at Once (-1250) will run away with the Oscar for Best Picture.
