Pick 1: Norway (+105) vs. Scotland

Saturday, June 17th at 12:00 p.m. ET

While Scotland enter Saturday’s match in Oslo, Norway, riding a wave of confidence, we are backing the Norwegians at soccer betting sites, to strike them back down to reality in a huge Euro 2024 qualification match.

The Scots have been in impressive form of late, and are enjoying a perfect start with six points through their first two matches. That said, they’ve yet to face anybody of the calibre that Norway possesses.

Norway is in the midst of their own ‘golden generation’ of soccer players, blending youth and skill to a level they’ve rarely seen before. Led by Manchester City’s Erling Haaland, this is a team on the rise, and one tired of missing out on major international tournaments.

They can take a big step in their own qualification by knocking off Scotland at home on Saturday afternoon.

While their defensive play leaves something to be desired, having not secured a clean sheet in their last seven matches – the Norwegians are a force on the ball.

Their speed, playmaking, and finishing ability up top make them a team to watch out for, and their offense should give a sluggish Scotland back-line some real problems.

Despite Haaland only finishing his season last week, after a huge Champions League victory, the big Norwegian striker will start up top.

He’ll be supported by a talented midfield, led by captain Martin Odegaard of Arsenal. That EPL tandem has been excellent for Norway, and Scotland really doesn’t have anybody that can effectively stifle their prowess.

The Scots enter a bit banged up, missing out on some key pieces such as Anthony Ralston, Craig Gordon, Grant Hanley, and striker Che Adams.

That leaves them without a lot of punch throughout their thin lineup, and though the Scots have shown well against Spain in recent outings – an in-form Norwegian side at home will offer unique challenges.

Norway are the better side here, and it really isn’t all that close on paper. It’s early in qualification, but it’s already a crucial game.

Norway is too talented to miss out on these big tournaments, and realize the need to secure a full three points against a depleted Scottish side. Look for the pace and talent up top to be too much to handle for Scotland, and it’s tough to see them gaining much traction in mounting a comeback.

Norway boasts excellent passers and ball-winners in their midfield, and look for this match to finish with a decisive Norwegian victory in Euro 2024 qualifying action to kick off this weekend’s parlay action. At +105, we love the value of this wager at sports betting sites.

Pick 2: Marvin Vettori (-125) over Jared Cannonier

Saturday, June 10th at 11:45 p.m. ET

The main event of this Saturday’s loaded UFC fight card will see a thrilling fight in the middleweight division between two top contenders, Marvin Vettori, and his opponent, Jared Cannonier.

While both of these talented fighters are currently out of title contention, both are on an upward trajectory and are closing in on an another title shot. A win here would certainly go a long way for either of these combatants.

Vettori has fared well in recent showings, and has steadily improved his game from his UFC debut back in 2016. He has lost one title fight, against Israel Adesanya in June 2021.

He’s incredibly durable, boasts great stamina at the middleweight level, and puts together an aggressive style, predicated on pressuring the opponent. It’s tricky to handle if you’re seeing it live for the first time, which Cannonier certainly will be on Saturday evening.

While Vettori is still likely on the upswing, that likely isn’t the case for the 39-year-old in Cannonier. The ‘Killa Gorilla’ has enjoyed a late resurgence in his career as a middleweight, but he’s struggled in fights against top-tier talents.

He looked uninspired against Robert Whittaker, and was thoroughly dominated by Adesanya in a title fight. Though he somehow patiently squeaked out a narrow win over Sean Strickland in December, Cannonier isn’t possessing many routes to victory.

He’s dangerous in tight with his fists, but doesn’t move well, and isn’t adept with his ground game.

Vettori really should be a wider favourite here. He’s more talented and well-rounded, and can keep the volume over five full rounds. Cannonier is aged, and simply cannot produce the volume required to win a decision.

On the ground, Vettori should be able to get him there, and inflict damage as well. The bet is backing Marvin Vettori’s -125 odds at UFC betting sites, and keeping this parlay rolling!

Two-Team Parlay Odds

If you prefer to just go with a two-leg parlay card, Norway (+105) and Marvin Vettori (-125), you will get parlay odds of +269. This means you would win $269 dollars for every $100 dollars wagered.

Pick 3: Edmonton Elks +7 (-110) at British Columbia Lions

Sat. June 17th at 7:00 p.m. ET

The CFL is back and we’ll be keenly targeting a road underdog on Saturday night as we look to back the Edmonton Elks getting a full touchdown against the BC Lions at football betting sites.

The Elks weren’t great in Week 1, but this line shift is an overreaction to some unfortunate luck in their opening week loss to the Saskatchewan Roughriders.  A narrow defeat of 17-13 has them starting out 0-1 on the year, but the Elks saw positives from new QB Taylor Cornelius under centre. He was dynamic as a dual threat with the ball in his hands, and though Cornelius did concede two interceptions, one of the balls was tipped on him.

Expect the Elks to run the ball heavily on Saturday night. They boast some top-tier running backs in Kevin Brown, who rushed for 60 yards on just eleven carries in Week 1.

The Lions have been quite porous against opposing rushers going back to last season, and the thinking here is that Edmonton would be wise to exploit this, while also controlling the pace and tempo of the game clock.

Though the Elks have really struggled in their past four outings against BC, the players and coaches alike are surely ready to reverse that trend. In fact, Edmonton is 0-4 across their past four games against BC, having been outscored by a combined 179-53 in those contests.

BC will challenge an improved Elks’ defense though. Vernon Adams Jr. leads a talented offense, and one that looked to be in great form back in Week 1.

However, Adams is no Nathan Rourke and BC has shown some growing pains. The receivers aren’t as talented as they were last season, and the Edmonton defensive front should win the battle at the line of scrimmage.

With Adams hurried and rushed, the Elks should be able to force mistakes. Cornelius can match the veteran Adams, and that’s why we are backing Edmonton plus the points on Saturday night.

There isn’t that much separating these teams, and don’t overreact to some of the bounces from an unpredictable Week 1 of CFL action.

Three-Team Parlay Odds

Taking the first three legs of this weekend parlay card, with Norway (+105), Marvin Vettori (-125), and the Edmonton Elks +7 (-110), you will see a return of +604 odds. This means you would win $604 dollars for every $100 dollars wagered.

Pick 4: Canada +0.5 (-155) vs. USA

Sun. June 18th at 8:30 p.m. ET

We all saw the thrashing the US Men’s National Team laid on Mexico on Thursday night, with a 3-0 drubbing of their long-time rivals. Now, the Americans will look to follow that up on Sunday night by winning the CONCACAF Nations League in the Finals vs. upstart Canada.

While the US squad gets most of the attention, this Canadian group is not one to sleep on. Let’s not forget they recently topped CONCACAF qualifying for the 2022 World Cup in Qatar, and went undefeated against the Americans in their two matches.

Just before the US decisively took down Mexico, it was Canada who put on their own show. They controlled a 90-minute match against Panama, easily winning by a 2-0 score-line, and it could’ve been more.

Jonathan David was dynamic up top, and Alphonso Davies continues to prove that he’s the best player in this squad, with impressive runs down the left flank, and a beautiful insurance tally in the waning minutes.

For the Americans, beating Mexico might’ve been their Finals. They exerted a ton of energy and enthusiasm, and many scuffles and intense moments have now left them short-handed for Sunday night’s championship match against the pesky Canadians.

Weston McKennie is suspended for receiving a red card, as is key defender Sergio Dest. That’s a key duo for the Americans, without natural replacements.

McKennie in particular is a key cog in the centre of the midfield, and without him, it’s likely going to allow Stephen Eustaquio all kinds of time and space on the ball to find passing options.

While the Americans have their more recognizable talents, Canada can now match the pedigree. They are dynamic up front, and their pace can cause fits to a sturdy American defense.

Where Canada is in trouble is often their defensive play, but their holding midfielders of Eustaquio and Ismael Kone can negate the US on the counter. While Canada are rightful underdogs, this line remains disrespectful to such a talented crew on the upswing.

Canada will be aggressive in their ball pursuit, and their pace out wide makes them absolutely lethal against any opponent. While the US defended well against the Mexicans, Canada offers more in attack.

Add in the fact that Dest and McKennie will be suspended, and the US lineup suddenly starts to seem a bit thinner than first anticipated.

Expect a close battle, with teams trading chances. Ultimately the best value in this spot is backing Canada to either draw or win the match inside the 90 minutes, and backing them on the spread, at +0.5 goals.

This means the match can go into extra time tied, and Canada +0.5 still gets us over the finish line. Look for a great match, and one in which the Canadians prove they are soccer’s next rising team.

Four-Team Parlay Odds

And there you have it, folks! Four exciting wagers to add a little excitement to your betting needs this weekend.  If you do choose to wager on all four legs of this parlay card, you will receive odds of +1059. This means that you would win $1059 dollars for every $100 dollars wagered.
