Bovada’s Super Bowl 58 odds remain unchanged at the top, with the Chiefs listed as the betting favorites to win in Las Vegas. This is constant throughout the best NFL betting sites. Every online betting site that we’ve investigated has the Chiefs as odds-on favorites to win Super Bowl 58.

However, there has been a shift in the Super Bowl 58 odds for a few other notable teams. Since the opening odds were released, there have been some changes at Bovada. The most apparent is the New York Jets’ odds to win Super Bowl 58.

In February, the Jets opened with +2500 odds to win the Super Bowl. The Aaron Rodgers trade impacted the Jets’ odds significantly. As a result of the blockbuster trade, the Jets moved from +2500 to +1200 to win Super Bowl 58.

Additionally, the Ravens have been big odds movers, as they’ve jumped to +1500 from +2500. Locking up Lamar Jackson to a five-year, $260 million helped their Super Bowl 58 odds tremendously1.

Meanwhile, the Cincinnati Bengals have replaced the Buffalo Bills as the second betting favorite behind the Chiefs. The Miami Dolphins have had a nice bump, too, from +2800 to +1600 Super 58 betting odds.

Super Bowl 58 Betting Favorites

Let’s take a few minutes to assess the top favorites to win Super Bowl 58. According to online sports betting sites, the Chiefs, Bengals, and 49ers are the top contenders.

Kansas City Chiefs (+700)

2022 was supposed to be a retooling year for the Kansas City Chiefs. The team traded superstar wide receiver Tyreek Hill to the Miami Dolphins. They also lost the secondary combo of Tyrann Mathieu and Charvarius Ward to free agency.

After winning their first two games of the season, the Chiefs lost to the Indianapolis Colts, 20-17. They won their next two games, but then succumbed to the Bills, 24-20, in Week 6. At that point, we all thought that Mahomes and company were indeed vulnerable. But, we were wrong.

For as long as Mahomes is healthy, and he has Travis Kelce to throw to, the Chiefs will always be among the title favorites. With running back Isiah Pacheco enjoying a breakout rookie season and a defense that is improving, it’s no surprise why the Chiefs’ Super Bowl 58 odds of +700 are the shortest at Bovada.

In 2022, Mahomes passed for a career-high 5,250 yards, along with 41 touchdowns and 12 interceptions. Also, he gained 358 yards and four touchdowns on the ground with his legs2. However, can Mahomes maintain this production with some changes to the offense?

As we discovered last year, Mahomes doesn’t need elite receivers to put up huge numbers. That being said, wide receiver depth isn’t a highlight of this team. Though the Chiefs lost Hill to the Dolphins, JuJu Smith-Schuster was a fine addition to the wide receiver room.

Smith-Schuster departed Kansas City for New England in the offseason, leaving Kadarius Toney and Marquez Valdes-Scantling as Mahomes’ primary receivers. Skyy Moore will be expected to have a larger responsibility in the Chiefs’ offense this season.

We feel confident about Moore and the offense in general. However, there isn’t as much room for injuries this year. Kelce opens everything up for the rest of Mahomes’ targets. So, if he’s fine, there shouldn’t be issues, but it’s worth keeping in mind.

Cincinnati Bengals (+800)

The Cincinnati Bengals may have failed to return to the Super Bowl this year, but their tough loss to the Chiefs in the 2022 AFC title game could be the motivating factor that pushes them over the hump in 2023.

Joe Burrow definitely did not have his best game of the season when it mattered most, as he threw two interceptions and was sacked five times against the Chiefs. But, remember that he finished the regular season ranked fifth in passing yards and second in passing touchdowns3.

Burrow also had only 12 interceptions during the regular season, the same as Aaron Rodgers and Patrick Mahomes, and two fewer than Josh Allen. During Cincinnati’s first two playoff games, Joe Cool did not throw a single pick4.

Despite losing to the Chiefs, Burrow still has a 3-1 SU record against Mahomes. The Bengals also eliminated Josh Allen and the Bills in the Divisional Round with a decisive 27-10 win in Buffalo. Cincinnati finished the regular season, with eight consecutive wins and repeated as division champions for the first time in franchise history.

The Bengals’ passing game should once again be in elite territory. Ja’Marr Chase, Tee Higgins, and Tyler Boyd are back for the Bengals. Also, tight end Irv Smith Jr. might be in for a breakout campaign.

The skill positions are in good shape for the Bengals. However, will the offensive line hold up well enough? The Bengals added tackle Orlando Brown Jr. in the offseason. He will start in the left tackle position, while Jonah Williams gets moved to right tackle following a mediocre campaign.

Cincinnati will be without both starting safeties from last season, but might have upgraded. Second-year Michigan Wolverine product Dax Hill is expected to make a big statement this season. Additionally, Nick Scott and rookie Jordan Battle should contribute nicely.

Look for the offensive line and defensive line to show modest improvement, though they’re not in a position to rank among the best in the NFL. With the second-best Super Bowl 58 odds, bettors are feeling confident, but they will likely need a couple of breaks along the way. One of those breaks would need to be hosting the 2023-24 AFC Championship game.

San Francisco 49ers (+850)

The San Francisco 49ers have officially settled their quarterback debate after naming Brock Purdy the starter. Purdy is in at QB1, while Trey Lance has been shipped out to the Dallas Cowboys. The 49ers traded Lance to Dallas in exchange for a fourth-round pick.

That’s how you turn a third-overall pick into a fourth-round selection. John Lynch admitted that he failed with that pick, but they didn’t swing and miss on Mr. Irrelevant. Purdy was selected with the final pick of the 2022 NFL Draft.

After leading the 49ers to eight straight wins, including the Wild Card and Divisional Round, Purdy suffered a UCL injury to his throwing arm. If the Iowa State alum could show that he is healthy coming off surgery, it was going to be tough for Lance to dethrone Purdy.

With stability at quarterback, the 49ers are in good shape offensively as Week 1 approaches. What the 49ers need to have success is a quarterback that won’t create unforced errors. There is ample talent on this offense to have a monster season.

Barring an injury, the 49ers will have Christian McCaffrey on the field for a whole season. Following a trade for him in midseason, McCaffrey transformed the 49ers’ offense into a potent unit. Having the luxury of lining McCaffrey up all over the field to create mismatches is a dream for Kyle Shanahan.

As well as McCaffrey, Deebo Samuel has the talent to line up in different offensive sets, including as a running back. If Purdy stays the course and doesn’t force the ball, the 49ers will be tough for defenses to match up against.

The defense is well-prepared to be one of the best in the league. In 2022, the 49ers led the NFL with 300.6 yards allowed per game. They were a force on the ground, allowing just 77.7 rushing yards per game5.

Spearheaded by Nick Bosa off the edge, expect more of the same from the 49ers. Bosa finished with a league-best 18.5 sacks last season. If Purdy stays healthy, the 49ers could be off and running to Super Bowl 58.

Best Super Bowl 58 Value Bet: Dallas Cowboys (+1600)

On paper, the Cowboys have a roster that could win the Super Bowl. Games are not played in a computerized simulation, though. The Cowboys have not been a good playoff team. There is no denying this much.

However, there comes a point where you may have to consider betting on the Cowboys at a solid price. As the defense continues to improve, it might be time to give this team a look. Currently, the Cowboys have +1600 odds to win Super Bowl 58.

Defensive coordinator Dan Quinn should elevate this unit to the next level in 2023. The addition of Stephon Gilmore to play cornerback opposite Trevon Diggs has the potential to be one of the best duos in the NFL.

The Cowboys finished second in the 2022-23 season, with a turnover ratio of +10. Only the 49ers were better at forcing more turnovers than Dallas last year6. Overall, the defense has a chance to be better. With the secondary strengthening and Micah Parsons running around, the Cowboys will be a tough defense to crack.

Dak Prescott doesn’t have any excuses in this offense. Despite losing Ezekiel Elliott, the offense has unlimited weapons. The wide receiver room includes CeeDee Lamb, Brandin Cooks, and Michael Gallup. That’s not a bad trio for Prescott to target.

After regressing following a strong 2021-22 campaign, expect Prescott to have a big season. The Cowboys acquired Lance in a trade with the 49ers, but he is not a threat to unseat Prescott in the starting lineup.

We have the Cowboys narrowly beating the Philadelphia Eagles to win the NFC East. The Eagles are a great team, but the best value is with the Cowboys. Along with winning the NFC East, we are making a play on Jerry Jones’ squad to win the Super Bowl.

Best Super Bowl 58 Longshot Bet: Detroit Lions (+2500)

Our opening longshot bet to win Super Bowl 58 was on the Dolphins at +2800. Currently, they are +1600 to win the Big Game in Las Vegas. I was able to grab some fantastic value on the Dolphins, and now we are looking for more on the Detroit Lions.

From the current Super Bowl 58 odds, the Lions are the best NFL team with odds of +2500 or longer. A quality offensive line is a must to win the Super Bowl. After decades of failing to address the line, the Lions are prepared to have their best offensive line in over 30 years.

With Penei Sewell and Taylor Decker at tackle, the Lions have never had this much talent on their offensive line. Frank Ragnow is an underrated anchor at the center position, as well. Jared Goff should have time to throw to an assortment of talented weapons.

Amon-Ra St. Brown and Jameson Williams have a good chance of excelling together in this offense. They’ll have to wait for Williams to serve a six-game suspension for gambling at a team facility, but the offense should be in good hands before his return.

Marvin Jones Jr. is fully capable, and the team is excited to see what rookie tight end Sam LaPorta can do out of the gate as a rookie. After T.J. Hockenson was a waste of a pick, they might have better luck with this Iowa tight end. He has been receiving rave reviews out of training camp thus far.

Moreover, the defense is prepared to reach new highs in 2023. Aidan Hutchinson is a top-flight bet to win the NFL DPOY award after a fantastic rookie campaign.

The Michigan alum finished with 52 combined tackles, 9.5 sacks, and even grabbed three interceptions after dropping in coverage7. With the addition of C.J. Gardner-Johnson to the secondary, the Lions should step forward defensively this year.

It might sound crazy, but the Lions are a strong value bet to win the Super Bowl at +2500.

Super Bowl 58 Prediction

After betting on the 49ers to win the NFC West, we are taking it a step further and making the 49ers part of our NFL betting strategy for Super Bowl 58.

From the offense to the defense, the 49ers are the most complete team in the NFL. If you want to bet on a well-rounded squad, this is your team.

While the offense isn’t as flashy as the Chiefs and Bengals, there is plenty of talent for Purdy to work with in San Francisco. In addition to having one of the best running backs in the NFL in McCaffrey, Samuel, George Kittle, and Brandon Aiyuk are dynamic targets.

Additionally, McCaffrey’s ability as a receiver can’t be understated. There are no glaring problems with the Niners’ offense. Likewise for the defense, which is projected to be in the Top 3 this season.

For our top Super Bowl 58 pick, the 49ers stand above the rest at +850 odds.
